4-23-02 Granted So sonic confronts Bowser and prepares for battle. Perhaps we'll check in on our other heroes and see how they're doing, shall we? It's amazing what you all take for granted, y'know? I mean, you don't have to wear gloves while driving your car because it's so old and shakes and you've got wrist problems. You can listen to your car stereo as you're driving down the road with the A/C on. You don't have to worry about one of your tires blowing, or losing a spark plug, or running out of brake fluid, or having your engine explode. You've never had to decide whether to eat or to fill your gas tank. You've never had to borrow hundreds of dollars from people you never thought you'd need to borrow money from. You probably don't even know what it's like to bust your ass to try and come up with rent money just before the deadline, or to do your banking on Saturday because that's the only day you're in town. You've never had to sell yourself for 10% - or 15 or 20, for that matter. You've never had your stereo stolen, your window busted out and your cds taken. You've never had to worry about such things, because you live in a safe neighborhood. You've never had to wonder how you were going to get to work on time because your car broke down, or how to pay back your mother, father, roommate or girlfriend for all the money you had to borrow. You've never had to decide whether to sell your video games, your coin collection or your exotic currency to pay a bill. No, you probably haven't had to do any of this kind of stuff. Count yourself blessed. But to those that have been through this kind of stuff, or are going through it now, you're probably all hearing the same things. Either "well, you must be doing something right," or "well, you must be doing something wrong," or "it builds character." Bullshit. Life happens to each of us. Yes, even you. Sorry, it's been a rough week. Hell, it's been a rough life. TDC, who is ranting again |
