FFX

Today's strip was short and simple again, but I decided to add a unique twist. Who says one person can't exist in the same place at the same time? Besides, Magus has done it before... ;)

Well, a buddy of mine hooked me up with Fireworks 4 and Dreamweaver 4, for which I am grateful. I'm writing this in Dreamweaver now, which is pretty sweet. Except it seems I can only use one space at a time again, which is mildly annoying. Perhaps I'll do the coding and such here and write the rants in Frontpage... Anyway, here's the gist of how it affects you: Dreamweaver has some unique flash and rollover capabilities that I mean to use to their fullest extent. Only problem is time, really. So you see that little drop-down there? Remember when I tried this before? Well, try it. It actually works. In a couple of weeks, probably, it'll replace the archives. Cool, neh? All in good time, though...

Speaking of time, I played FFX at a friend's house today. Very sweet. Makes me wish I had a PS2... Anyway, it has the feel of playing a movie, which gets old after an hour or two. And sadly, the funniest part of the game thus far was in the intro when my friend's grandma was watching Tidus and said "My, she's pretty. Look at that gorgeous hair." To which my friend replied, "Uh, that's a guy." We had a good long belly laugh before going back to playing the game.

So what do I think of it? Overall, it was a lot of fun. Granted, I only got to play two hours of it, but I had fun doing it. And that's what's really important, right? I mean, I could tell you how incredibly mind-blowing the graphics were, and about how there was no cgi because the whole damned game is cgi. I could probably tell you about how the awesome soundtrack augments the well-done voice acting, but that doesn't come close to telling you how much fun I had playing this game.

If you have a PS2, I recommend buying this game. Highly. That is, if you can get your hands on it. As much as I played, it has the awesome graphics and semi-realistic character design of FF8 without all the... yeah... If you have two PS2s, mail me one. Email me and I'll give you my mailing address. If you don't have a PS2, I feel your pain. I just hope you're lucky enough to have a friend with the system.

I must say, Square has outdone themselves this time. I just hope it has the killer storyline that it seems to have so far. If it's half as good as 9, it's worth the price of admission.

TDC, who is overjoyed at the new FF title.
