make your own damned comic!

Did I lose any of you?  The basic idea is that the key point in Chrono Trigger is what caused the rip that TDC and Tempest make use of to travel between games, and Lucca capitalized on to travel through time in that game.  The good guys and bad guys have always been at war, neither side really winning for long (as someone else inevitably picked up the game for old times' sake, or played it for the first time...  you get the idea) until Tempest made the bad guys stronger than the good guys.  So it was inevitable that some lone good guy would come along to save the worlds, neh?  We'll be dealing a lot with time travel, game travel, and even comic travel here at Reset over the next few months.  Stay tuned.

In describing today's comic to Atma (a close friend of mine) I told him I had had a full-blown epiphany regarding Reset.  He said something along the lines of "This is the police.  Please step away from the epiphany."  *chuckle*  *looks around and doesn't see anyone laughing*  I guess you had to be there, neh?  *tugs nervously at collar*

Anyway, I got to hang with Remnant today, for the first time in a long time.  It was pretty cool.  I showed him a brief synopsis of what was happening in the webcomic world lately.  After seeing one fancomic/crossover after another, he asked "Isn't anyone doing their own comics anymore?"

Good question.

Lately it seems everyone's been busy with something: first it was finals, then Christmas, then New Years...  Whatever the excuse, the end result is that the webcomic market has been pretty dry as late.  Nearly everone's doing fancomics or subcomics or anything to fill space while they're busy or out of town.

So how long will it last?  Indications are that things will pick up again early in 2002.  I just hope this trend doesn't continue for too long.  I really like seeing comics like 8-bit doing fanart for Save Point and all now and then, but I really like reading those comics themselves, y'know?

That said, don't forget that Reset and Simon's World are doing a crossover late next month or early in February.  I think we decided on two weeks full of comics, i.e. 14 strips each.  Then we're planning a crossover with Save Point, followed by a romp around the webcomic world, both hand-drawn and sprite-based comics.  If you have a webcomic and would like to participate, email me and we'll talk details.

And now I have something to read that Atma sent me, so I'll be off for now.  I hope you're having a great holiday season and got everything you wanted!  l8r
