...but never quite

Today's comic finally shows Jenny in her chosen "physical" form. But she'll be sort of like Genie from Aladdin once he's free: maintaining some power, but not the previous "phenomenal cosmic power". I picked Schala because she's my favorite character of any game. Ever. Perhaps it's her young beauty, perhaps her blue hair, perhaps the fact that she stands solid on her beliefs in the face of adversity from even her mother... There is something noble in her actions that makes her beautiful despite (or in addition to) her looks.

BTW, I have added Mawgg merchandise as well as put up the link for the Got Whelk? series on the Buy Stuff page. Check it out, j0.

I'd like to say thanks to those of you that have contacted me because of these rants. It really means a lot to me, and encourages me to continue. Also, thanks to those of you I've talked to over instant messengers about the plot line and whether or not to use humor. That sort of speculation really helps me decide on where Reset is going, and allows me to test the waters a bit without actually making the strips.

I still say life is rough, but it gets easier as we go. Seems to come in waves, neh? Up and down. Never ending. Like the ocean, or a roller coaster or the Wheel of Time (I'm reading the second book, btw). Life has its ups and downs and instead of trying to fight them, we simply give in. But can we really do anything about it?

The short answer is no. Life will have its good times and its bad times, and hopefully the good times make up for the others. We can't change our surroundings, or what happens to us, but we can change how we react to them. I'd like to think that I have a stronger will than most people, but I find myself reacting to the events around me instead of acting in spite of them.

I really don't have a focused place for this rant to go, just speculating. Saying a little "what if?" for fun, and also to possibly get you to do that ever-dangerous act: think.

I've gotten more than one email accusing me of committing this dangerous act, and I take it as a compliment. I think we should think at least a few minutes every day. Perhaps that's just my love for philosophy and discussion speaking, but hey, what else is there worth talking about, neh?

So life flows ever-onward despite our actions. Perhaps I use the terms life and time interchangeably, but I think you know what I mean.

Ah, time... Can you tell I've been playing the PS release of Chrono Trigger lately? ^_^' It's nice to have time to pick such things up now and again. At least once a week. It does a mind good.

Well, after all that randomness, I urge you to have a little fun. This is the weekend, after all (unless you just got back to work and it's Monday (slacker ^_~), in which case... well, have fun anyway) and we're young, right? At least young at heart. So go out and enjoy life. It's shorter than you might think. Take at least a few minutes from your busy schedule to enjoy it.

And I think that's the most positive rant I've ever written. I hope you liked it.

~TDC, who likes it when he can manage to rant clearly, but will settle for happily
- uptight, but learning to relax

PS - we're doing a little something to help out with the relief effort. We (my father and I) are selling t-shirts for $15 and polo shirts for $25. Each says "Remember 9-11-2001" and sports an American flag. The tees have a stylized, waving flag, and the polos have an embroidered straight flag. $3.50 from each tee and $5 from each polo goes to the Red Cross. Email me if you're interested. I haven't worked out shipping costs yet. Haven't had a need to.
