10-16-01 Life. Can't live without it. Before I get started, allow me to direct you to Death Monkies, Inc. which has surprisingly few monkeys... Anyway, a couple of guys I've met through various webcomics and bulletin boards are making it, and I'm told they are getting ahead on strips, which means there should be some new ones soon (right?). Also, I know I said that the previous comic would feature bad guys and it didn't. Sorry, I kinda decided Jenny needed to take form before we left them. I hope you don't mind. ^_~ Well, I'm left with much less time to do this rant than I had hoped. I have five minutes before this goes live, so I'm typing quickly. I had a portion of this done earlier, but decided to scrap it all once I came back to it. I talked with my dad for the last hour and a half, which is a good thing, but I didn't plan on it, and didn't have this prepared beforehand... Anyway, thanks again to those of you who emailed me letting me know that I'm reaching you. It's as nice for me to know that I'm not alone in this as I'm sure it is for you to read my life's outpourings here in my rants. :D Things are going fairly well. I have managed to push myself into getting some things done before they were due (a few days even!) but I still managed to forget to turn it in, so it was all for naught... So I don't feel all that great right now. I'm sure you know what I mean. You feel like you put in all that time and effort, and then *poof* it's all gone because you forgot to turn it in... Which brings me to an interesting point. I used to think I was procrastinating by doing each strip only a few hours before it goes live on the web, but I find that I really make this for you guys, and I love to share my work. If I made a whole bunch early, I would do something foolish like try to put them all up at once, or go five days a week, because I wouldn't be able to stand all those strips sitting there not being seen by others. As strange as this phenomenon seems, it is the way I obviously like it, since it's the way I do things. It's the way I make my strips, my buttons and banners, even the way I decided to write my novel, which will undoubtedly be the subject of a future rant. It's also the way I do my rants, which I write usually mere minutes before I post them. I don't spell-check, proofread or otherwise edit these. They go live as soon as I can possibly get them up. >.< Sometimes that's good, sometimes bad. Sometimes life is really good. I talked for a few hours with a co-worker of mine on Sunday night, and we had a great conversation. Opened up a whole bunch of arguments that I hadn't considered for a long time... Perhaps I'll share them with you when I'm not running behind on my self-imposed deadline. ~TDC, who hears Linkin Park and is
reminded that he needs to hurry up and upload this PS - we're doing a little something to help out with the relief effort. We (my father and I) are selling t-shirts for $15 and polo shirts for $25. Each says "Remember 9-11-2001" and sports an American flag. The tees have a stylized, waving flag, and the polos have an embroidered straight flag. $3.50 from each tee and $5 from each polo goes to the Red Cross. Email me if you're interested. I haven't worked out shipping costs yet. Haven't had a need to. |
