10-18-01 this comic has performed an illegal operation... Today's strip shows some of Cid's ability to blend in with his environment (or lack of environment, as Tempest apparently likes sparse furnishings) and Tempest's outright lack of perception. Made ya laugh, right? Well, that's all that matters. I had another rant written for tonight, but I'm sure you'll realize shortly why I changed it: I have failed this night. Despite everything I have been able to do, I cannot get today's strip or this rant up before midnight tonight. It is simply impossible. You're reading this now in the archives because it never appeared on the main page. Reset will not be updated for quite some time, and there's nothing I can do about it. You see, I am still making strips and writing rants, but I have no way of sharing them. This infuriates me to no end. I have been uploading my strips and rants using free internet service providers, but they have all given up on me. Netzero (the one that has worked best thus far) has limited their free hours to 10 per month now, on top of their other inconveniences, and I've already passed that limit, thinking I had 40. I feel like an artist who can afford their paint and canvas but is incapable of procuring them, or a writer who is writing novels by hand because no one will sell him a typewriter. Longtime fans will recall that I attempted to sign up for Netzero's premium service months ago, and found out that they don't accept debit cards (and I don't use credit cards). So, you ask, why don't I just use a high-speed service? Well, I would if one were available. Time Warner just announced that their Road Runner service is "coming soon" and Sprint has been worse than Blizzard (or Nintendo) in their release date for DSL here in town. The worst of it is that there are two major Sprint buildings within a mile of where I live, both of which are undoubtedly wired with DSL and have been for months now. It is available in our larger neighbor towns, but they refuse to give us service. Well, to those of you who are in charge of Sprint and Time Warner: fuck you all. You will regret not having gotten off your asses and gotten me faster service months ago. I demand an apology for myself and for my readers, and I will not be satisfied until I get one. Finally, Southwestern Bell won't come out here because this is a Sprint-dominated market. Don't tell me there is no such thing as a monopoly in America. The fact that Sprint dominates this area is the reason you're reading this in the archives and not on the main page. ~TDC, who is pissed at all the
money-grubbing motherfuckers who kept him from uploading
tonight's strip and rant PS - we're doing a little something to help out with the relief effort. We (my father and I) are selling t-shirts for $15 and polo shirts for $25. Each says "Remember 9-11-2001" and sports an American flag. The tees have a stylized, waving flag, and the polos have an embroidered straight flag. $3.50 from each tee and $5 from each polo goes to the Red Cross. Email me if you're interested. I haven't worked out shipping costs yet. Haven't had a need to. |
