12-15-01 on Schrödinger's cat *whew* What a week! This week's comics tell it all, really. This whole TDC vs. Zero thing went a week longer than planned, but eventually had the same ending. Now, on to the others... *chuckle* I just finished reading Robert A. Heinlein's "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls" and I think I liked it. I say "I think" because I'm not quite certain... If you've ever read a Heinlein book, I recommend you read this one. He manages to bring in characters from the unlikeliest of sources, making for a very interesting character dynamic. The action starts off early, and doesn't really let up, which is good. Keeps you occupied, neh? ;) But it's the dialogue that really got me. It is frickin' hilarious! I recommend anyone who likes comedy read this book just for the dialogue. I especially liked his little rant about writers. Quite accurate, and quite funny. The only gripe I have is the ending: it doesn't have one. The whole book is about getting the main character to sign up for a mission, which he finally accepts very near the end. So he's on this mission, right, gets injured, and then... Well, that's it. If it had gone another 40 or 10 or even 5 pages, it would've had an ending. As it was, there was very little resolution... Left me wanting more, y'know? Oh well, on to the third book in the Wheel of Time. ^_~ l8r! TDC, who prefers his books to have an ending |
