9-20-03 Far too long It has been a long, long, time since I spoke to you last. Far too long. For those of you still waiting, I thank you. The wait is nearly over. I know, you've heard that before, so I won't make any promises I can't keep. Work has resumed on the movies, however. The first, as you know, was completed 16 months ago. The others were supposed to have been done shortly after that. The last year has been a hard one for me, on many levels. The best news of the last few months is that my girlfriend is now my fiancée (her nickname is Doomkitty). I got a new car to replace the deathtrap, and I'm in an office job that pays the bills and I got a solid desk for the computer. Most everything else went bad, however. Finances have always been a problem. I went through several mental breakdowns, which Doomkitty has helped me survive. Coming out of all these messes, however, I am mentally and emotionally stronger than I've been in my life. Without Doomkitty's help, I wouldn't be here. Anyway, you all probably don't care about that. You want to know about progress on the movies. Those of you who have been on the bulletin board know how things have been going lately. Check it out if you haven't heard. As for actual progress, I'm working over what I've got so far. I like some of it, but it's going a different direction than I had planned. I'll be making a more defined script before I begin animation again. It's a lot of work for crappy dialogue, and that's definitely not what I want. I want this thing to be good, which was my excuse for it taking so long in the first place. I'm not going to give out an inferior product now. I'll have to work even harder for having made you wait so long. Also, I made a page listing the music I had planned to use in the movies. You can check it out here. Finally, I should let you know that the other projects I was starting to work on aren't going to happen either. I was planning on doing a semi-drawn strip called I.B. Venting. I suck at drawing. I was also working on a side story to Reset, called Reset: Assassins. That probably won't happen either. It may at some time in the future, but not any time soon. I have, however, started a new comic that will show fruit hopefully by the end of the year. I have teamed up with an artist friend who wants me to be the author for his comic idea. The preliminary stuff is awesome so far. We started on this project a while back and decided against it. Having both come a long way, we've decided to start it up again. It's called Tandem, and it's going to be something truly great. I'll definitely let you know more as we get closer to launch. Thank you again for your patience, and you have my sincerest apologies. This has been hanging over my head for over a year now, so I know, probably better than any of you, how badly this project needs to be completed. I'm not going to be setting a precise date, as that hasn't done any good so far.
