living well

Today's strip... was a way of writing Remmie out of the script. I tried to do so in a semi-humorous manner, but I'm not sure I succeeded. There's better stuff to come, I assure you. ^_~

Anyway, I walked into work tonight, and one of the girls that works there asks "Are you Shaun Bell?" to which I replied in the affirmative. "Oh," she informed me, "you won the contest." We have many contests at the Rainforest Cafe, usually involving such small prizes as "choose your own sidework" cards or small dollar amounts. Well, she meant the store-wide portion of the corporate contest. Every night, they are tracking our alcohol sales, and for each drink, we get a raffle ticket. At the end of that week, our name is drawn for a big prize. I won a 19" television. ^_^

Only one problem: I already have a TV. Doesn't life just suck? ;) They told me that they're willing to trade it in for a gift certificate to Best Buy. I'm totally jazzed. This means I can buy some DVDs to fill out my collection (of which I currently have only one >.< ).

On top of that, I made decent money tonight, and on top of that, I had fun at work. The last table of the night was a party of 24, which I had to split with another Safari Guide (server, for you normal people ^_~ ). They were a blast! The adults nearly all ordered alcoholic drinks, and they had a good time. In other words, they were happy, so we could do no wrong. ^_^ I've been on a natural high since then. Didn't make great money tonight, but I had fun doing it, which is more important to me.

Finally, for those of you who only check the site when we update the strip, you'll find a few changes. I made a new background, and added a navigation bar, replacing the old text links. The t-shirts are still under construction. :)

~TDC, who is surviving against all odds

- why do you always kick me when I'm high? (that's a quote from an SR71 song, for those who don't know) ;)
